“Picadilly Jim”…Gibson reads in a melodious and cultured voice which contrasts with and highlights the farfetched silliness of the convoluted plot, heightening the reader's enjoyment of the story. I haven't time or space to detail the subplots — the explosive in the safe, the kidnapping, the World Series — but they're all there, trust me, and they all work together flawlessly to create a delightful experience for the old Wodehousian hand or the neophyte.
